Team Spotlight: Kelly’s Story

Rediscovering Purpose Through Patient-Centered Care

During a patient visit, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Kelly realized the interpreter on the call wasn’t accurately translating what was being said. Concerned the patient wasn’t being understood, she ended the call and redialed until clear communication was possible.

It took persistence, but she refused to settle when a patient’s dignity and care were on the line.

Before joining HCHC, Kelly had nearly walked away from nursing altogether. She’d seen too many places where profit mattered more than people, and it had taken the joy out of her work. Here, she found something different—a team that still believes compassion belongs at the center of care.

At HCHC, Kelly rediscovered why she became a nurse in the first place.
